How about seeing the world from a dog’s perspective? Odate City, in the northern Japanese prefecture of Akita, birthplace of the Akita dog breed, decided a dog’s point of view, using RICOH THETA 360 degree cameras, might show a neat angle on some of the area’s fantastic scenery.
The tours apparently include a tour of the statue of Hachiko, whose famous loyalty to his owner inspired multiple books and films. It also includes Odate’s Roken Shrine for old dogs, Otaki hot springs, the Akita Dog Museum, and more planned.

Akita dogs are big, fluffy and incredibly loyal and come from Akita prefecture in the snowy north of Japan. Today, Street View can take you there in an instant.
Odate city wanted to give visitors a snapshot of the local area and, since Akita dogs are such an important part of the city’s history and culture, they called on the help of a hardy pair of working Akita dogs — Ako and Asuka — to give their own unique perspective of a dog’s life in Akita by strapping a small camera to a dog-friendly harness on their backs.You can enjoy the beautiful landscape of Akita through the eyes of dogs in Street View.
Currently Google is renting a 360 camera that anyone can easily shoot.
