Ricoh Theta V - connected to my wifi - but phone doesn't see it

So - I was able to figure out how my theta can connect to my wifi router… and now it appears it’s a steady green - meaning it is connected. On a side note - - even when I selected 5g- and tried to connect to a 5G SSID - it wouldn’t work - - it seems to only work in 2.4

That being said - it’s connected – steady green light. BUT – my phone (on the same SSID) cannot see it. no idea why… It simply won’t find the access point.

Any suggestions?

Check the WiFi channel configuration on your router.
The Ricoh Theta V works only on specific 5g channels:

  • Wireless compliance standard IEEE802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz/5GHz)*9
    IEEE802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz only)
  • Wireless supported channels 2.4GHz: 1 to 11ch
    5GHz: W52 (36/40/44/48ch)*9

A smartphone app (e.g. WiFi Analyser) can be helpful to check the actual channel coverage.

Edit same goes for the Z1 model:
I know it’s an old post, yet may be helpful for people struggling with the Ricoh Theta Z1 5GHz connection in e.g. WiFi-client mode (as I had).
From the Product description page (Product | RICOH THETA Z1):

  • Wireless supported channels 2.4 GHz: 1 to 11ch or 1 to 13ch *6
    5 GHz: W52 (36 to 48ch, channel bandwidth 20/40/80 MHz supported) *5
