The HDR-DNG plug-in is now pre-installed. This plug-in allows images to be saved in RAW (HDR-DNG, 16-bit float) format. In addition to JPEG format, saving in RAW format (Adobe® DNG format) is newly supported, allowing you to enjoy full-scale image editing just like with a typical DSLR camera.
It is now easy to connect to smartphones and wireless routers. By eliminating the need to enter passwords and other information, connections can be made more efficiently.
– When connecting to a smartphone:
Tap [Communication information] on the camera setting screen.
Read the displayed QR code with the smartphone.
– When connecting to a wireless router:
Create a QR code for setting up the wireless router using a smartphone or other device.
Tap [Client mode] on the camera setting screen.
Turn on the client mode and then tap [Add network].
When the LTE adapter is plugged in, this menu is available.
Temporal Noise Reduction in 5.7K Videos
Previous firmware 2.51.0 added temporal noise reduction (TNR) to 5.7K 10fps and 5.7K 2fps videos. The algorithm cannot be adjusted and the TNR is on by default. This may allow the 5.7K video to be better-suited to some low-light applications such as construction and renovation.
@pzman_yang I don’t think so. I’m not a photographer, so I’m just curious, but how would you expect to be able to modify the settings? What settings do you want to adjust?
On the LCD screen, I can choose resolution: 5.5K or 11K
I can also choose between RAW and RAW+. The RAW+ setting appears to take the DNG image and also take a JPG image simultaneously.
What settings do you want to adjust in the RAW file mode? I don’t think the settings can be adjusted right now, but we can organize community feedback for RICOH.
I noticed that DNG file and JPG file captured in HDR-DNG mode uses different stacking algorithms. DNG is handling motion way better than JPG, that reduces duplicated textures.
This is so confusing. Probably 2 and 3 are similar algorithm.

BTW, the word “HDR-DNG” was initially used in DFE, but now it became official wording?? Anyway I tried new HDR-DNG, and it was awesome.
From Clay Morehead
Did my first HDR shot on my very messy desk… looks promising.
A bit more noise than I prefer, but it responds well to Ai denoise in Lightroom before stitching.
Both the new LR and stand alone stitchers are working well.
No choice in number of brackets, so it’s probably as said, 4 shots like the in camera Z1 HDR.
The release notes seem to say you can shoot in raw for normal shots, but I haven’t yet found how to do that.
From Yoichi Hirota
ah, I can see the detail of your desk, much more organized than mine.
It seems normal RAW is not available… Probably they don’t want to disclose true capability of the sensor?
agree the stitched DNG file is not RAW. They just use it as a handy container.
I have no idea what kind of algorithm is used in X, but probably it is similar to DFE/DFR plugin: Whole process is done in mosaiced format, NO demosaic/re-mosaic is in the pipeline. So we could all it, almost RAW?!
