I hope it’s okay to share this here. I recently created a project that I’ve been using myself, and I thought it might be useful to others in the community as well.
With the THETA Z1 getting older and the possibility of its official software becoming unavailable or unsupported in the future, I wanted to create a web based alternative that could help keep the workflow alive and add some additional features.
I built an online version of the THETA Stitcher specifically for the Z1, with the following features:
- Free to use
- No install or download needed
- No data leaves your machine
- More Device compatibility
- RUNS on mobile devices (Android 16, Chrome/Firefox)
- NO GPU REQUIRED (runs on headless xeons, no more “error 0x00000005”)
- Runs inside browser (Chrome tested)
- Small footprint under 1mb
- Apply a logo to cover the tripod
- Change initial view or heading aka Yaw & save to XMP data on process
- Batch processing
All you need to do is to supply the dual fisheye JPEG and the original DNG. It supports the same auto seam and edge detection as the computer application.
