The latest update of the Theta X firmware made it impossible to use the Matterport app, Matterport wrote that they did not know when it was fixed. I was a happy Matterport-user until recently.
Does anybody know if it is possible to install the old firmware on the X? That firmware worked perfectly with Matterport.
There is no known way to roll back the firmware on the RICOH THETA cameras. Can you post the version of firmware on the camera and the version of the Matterport app. Please list whether you are using the Matterport app on iOS or Android and what version of the mobile phone OS you are using.
Have you tried to use an older version of the Matterport App?
I know how excited you are to use your Ricoh Theta X with Matterport but we currently do not offer full support. With version 4.13 of the iOS Capture app, the Ricoh Theta X works but isn’t yet fully optimized.
With Capture on Android, the Ricoh Theta X works with older Ricoh Theta X firmware versions, but isn’t optimized. You’ll see an “unsupported camera” warning, but you should be able to scan. You’ll be able to select two different resolutions on the camera and both will work with Matterport’s system, but they’re not optimized. If you have the most up-to-date firmware installed on the Ricoh Theta X, it currently does not work with Capture on Android. You may also check the manufacturer’s website to help you in terms of hardware concerns.
We would definitely update our website and help center once we fully support the Ricoh Theta X with Matterport Capture App.
If you click, “OK”, does the camera work? The note from Matterport indicates that the camera should work if you ignore the warning about “unsupported camera”
