Hello - most of the chatter about this issue is from several years ago, but I’m using the Theta Stitcher for the first time and am getting the ‘No Compatible DNG Files’ error message. I have followed the manual instructions exactly, have both DNG and TIFF files in the same location with the same name (except for the extension) and confirmed that the image dimensions are 7296 × 3648. No idea how to get this to work.
Hi @craig , new user. I’m having a similar problem with opening files in the Theta Stitcher and getting the ‘no compatible dng file’ error message. I haven’t seen recent chatter about this issue, assumed the updates had solved this. I didn’t shoot in Dual Fisheye Plugin mode - just 5 exposures. I haven’t blended the exposures, just trying to bring one exposure into the Stitcher and getting the error message. Appreciate the help.
Thanks for the reply, Craig.
I’ve confirmed the filenames are the same and that the files are placed in the same location.
I’ve tried the stitcher as both a stand alone application as well as the lightroom plugin.
Here’s a link to the files on a Google Drive if you wouldn’t mind testing… I’m at a loss here.
macOS Photos App can definitely mess up Theta files on import and may not always show all files on camera, i recommend never to use this app for anything other than casual iphone snapshots
macOS Image Capture App can sometime not show all image files inside the camera, but i have never seen it mess up the files it does transfer
also note that Theta stand alone stitcher request for original DNG can be pointed to any DNG from the same camera, it is looking for the per camera custom calibration metadata inside the DNG, so an image from another camera may be accepted but it may not stitch as well as with metadata from dng from that exact same camera
