Why are these horizontal lines appearing in my photos?

I hope this is an appropriate place to post. I have never seen these before. I shot last week with the same settings and I wasn’t getting these but they are on all of my shots today. Any help would be appreciated! I’m using a Theta X.

I have not seen this before and I do not know the source of the problem.

Try the following in this sequence:

  1. turn camera off by pressing and holding the power button for more than 4 seconds - retest
  2. upgrade firmware - can you can the mobile app, desktop app, or the menu from the THETA
  3. reset THETA X internal settings using the menu on the LCD on the camera
  4. The room looks like it has blinds in the room. Arrange the position of the camera so that the sunlight coming in through the blinds is not directly hitting the camera. As a test close the blinds completely or open them completely.

Thanks for the response, Craig. I tried each of these steps today but the problem persists. I too thought it was a lighting problem at first but I’m having the same issue in rooms receiving no direct natural light. Very strange. I’ll leave links to some more example photos.

it may be a physical camera problem. Try contact RICOH official support.

Do you have a lens protector or something on the lens?

I contacted Ricoh support and they believe it to be an issue with the lens as you say. They asked me to take some more example photos and when I did so this morning - no lines! I’m stumped. Maybe it was something with the environment yesterday that I’m not understanding.

I’ll update this thread if I gain any more insight in case anyone has this problem in the future. Thanks for your help, Craig!
