How to stitch Theta Z1 dual fisheye in 2025

Hi everyone, I just purchased a Theta Z1 yesterday to make HDRI images for VFX. I’ve been scouring the internet for an answer on how to stitch together the dual fish eye images into a single HDRI. I see that there used to be a plugin from Light Room Classic but as far as I can tell that is defunct.

What is the proper workflow in 2025? All of the info seems to be out of date now. Thank you.

have you tried this?

Hi Craig, yessir I tried this app. Unfortunately it only supports JPG / TIFF, so for stitching RAW images what would be the solution?

The stitcher is for the RAW/DNG plus from the RICOH THETA Z1. It outputs JPG/TIFF.

Are you hoping to get a stitched RAW/DNG image?

If you’re trying to stitch the RAW/DNG after editing and are unable to export TIFF, then post the following:

  • screenshots of your workflow with the RICOH THETA app
  • sample DNG image from the Z1 that you are trying to stitch. Place the image on Google Drive or Dropbox and then paste the link in the forum.

It is common to use PTGui.
In the case of bracketed shots, there is no problem in combining Tiffs exported by RICOH THETA Stitcher with HDR afterwards.
If you have an environment such as Nuke, you can also use STMap.
