I have the same problem. Nexus 6p, Theta SC2.
I just upgraded to SC2 firmware 1.31 (newest one from 4 days ago) and I am having the same problem. Unfortunately, the firmware upgrade didn’t fix the problems with Google Streetview.
If the camera locks, press and hold the power button for longer than 12 seconds (roughly). This will force a power down.
The V and SC2 have slightly different APIs.
I used a Pixel 2 in my test.

From just a learner here, can I please ask if this SC2 + Google Street View incompatibility is an unfortunate consequence of a design compromise (eg. reduced capability of SC2 API), or simply due to delay in other parties (eg. Street View, Matterport) incorporating the new API, but in time, all will be fine? Or maybe is fine on some other Android or IOS platforms?

Got today my Theta SC2 and I have the same issue.
Theta firmware updated to version 1.42
StreetView updated to versione 2.0.0.328664139
My phone:
Xiaomi Redmi 9
Android 10
the phone has everything updated too
I had the same problem with mine using my Sony Xperia XA2 and Firmware 1.42
But updating to Firmware 1.51 seems to have fixed the issue!
Update after playing around with it a little bit more, I can take and import still image using the street view app, but not video files.
When attempting to take an “interval” (with the video icon) I get the error “Unable to capture image, please try again.”
If I take a video using the theta app, I can import it into the street view app as a “new video”, but I get the error “failed to process video”, when attempting to download the video from the Theta device.
I can download the video file to my phone, but I can’t see a way of importing the file from the phone to the street view app, so currently I don’t think this works for videos

Something very similar happens with me.
When I connect the SC2 in App Street View, the image is normal for a few seconds and after that it freezes. this happens whether she is recording or not.
Use on IOS 14.6, and with SC2 with firmware 1.64

You can publish 360 images to Google Street View with using THETA SC2. It’s very very useful and affordable 360 camera for business shooting and virtual tour.
However, Google Street View app is dead. No more free app for GSV. The Help page doesn’t support THETA SC2 and Z1.

No worries. You can see THETA Z1 on Street View Ready list. SC2 is also ok.

@Juantonto , I’m know you’re busy with an existing project, but you should discuss with @jcasman the idea of putting out a document for using the RICOH THETA with StreetView in the future. I know you are an expert in Streetview and many people want to put up THETA images on Streetview. It seems like a good set of information for the community. We can pay some amount of money as a thank you from the community.

Really nothing new for SC2. It still crashes with the GSV App.
I can only use it with the Ricoh Theta app and then import it into GSV, but it’s not ideal. If you could do everything on the GSV App it would be much better.
hi Craig and to all. I’ve seen the app gsv today it give me the possibility to connect my sc2 for business. it have give me the possibility for just a moment to rec a video, but don’t to save, itself blocked.
There are news about app gsv?
I would like to ask for an info. I noticed that in the shooting settings I found new modes that I believe were not there before.
To recharge the battery is it necessary to use a PC or even a battery charger for smartphones?

Any news about streetview and sc2. I have the same priblem. When conect sc2 over streetview and try to do interval photos vith videeo, after 2-3seconds message apear: “Unable to capture image, please try again.”
Is there anyone who manage to wlrk interval with sc2?

I have the same problem too
I don’t think the SC2 will work with video to image conversion with Street View. You’ll need to use the X with Google Street View Studio
You may be able to use the SC2 video with a separate GPS logger software and UL2GSV.
